This hat was inspired by photographs of ski tracks in fresh snow. It is a bottom up hat, knit in the round. It has twisted rib and a simple left cable. Both the cable and rib patterns continue on the brim when it is folded up. This hat is designed as a beanie, but I have included an adjustment if you prefer more of a slouchy hat. The pattern contains approximately 2” of negative ease. Please take fit into consideration when deciding which size hat to knit.

Materials:
- Circular needles and/or DPNs in size 3(3.35 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge
- Cable needle
- Ruler or tape measure
- Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
- One skein of DK Weight Yarn
- Pom Pom optional.

Gauge: 24 stitches and 40 rows over 4” in stockinette stitch. 28.25 stitches and 40 rows over 4” in pattern. Please take time to check gauge. Negative ease is very important for the fit of this hat.
